VVHS Establishes a Fund for Medical and Rehabilitation Needs of Neglected and Abused Animals

Neglected and abused animals present a huge challenge to the shelter. They are undernourished, dehydrated, and very afraid. They often have physical conditions requiring significant veterinary care, behavioral training, maximum staff attention, and a long-term residency at the shelter while they are rehabilitated to adoptable status.

The incidents of mistreated animals being abandoned at our doorstep has increased of late. Recent stories of Valor and “Gimpy” have created a lot of attention to the plight of these victimized animals. We sure could use your help with Valor, Gimpy and the other animals that will unfortunately follow in their paw prints.
