Volunteer

Volunteers play a vital role at the shelter.

They help us enrich the lives of our adoptables and make their stays healthier and happier. Quality time with shelter pets has a positive and long-lasting effect on their well-being. There are numerous ways for you to donate your time, energy, and talents to help VVHS.

Dog Walkers

We always need dog walkers. Join our team, get exercise, and learn more about dogs, their behavior and training. Our volunteers are vital to the health of the dogs in our shelter. Your time walking and playing in the courtyard with dogs of all ages and sizes is a huge benefit. Perfect for dog lovers who may not have their own dog to walk. The work our dog walkers do helps each dog do better in the shelter and show off their true personalities to attract the perfect adopter.

Cat Socializers

Donating your time to be a cat socializer has a positive effect on the well-being of shelter cats. Cats can be scared and stressed living in a shelter environment. You can help them feel safe and relaxed, exhibit their true character, and have a much better chance of finding their forever home.
