Rainbow Bridge Tree Lighting

Pet lovers remembered their beloved pets who have passed over the Rainbow Bridge at the Verde Valley Humane Society’s First Annual Rainbow Bridge Tree Lighting on December 4th. All joined with staff and volunteers to celebrate pets loved and lost.

Participants sent photos of their pets which were placed in ornaments and hung on the Humane Society’s tree until the owners’ names were called to honor their pet. Despite the wet winter weather, there were few dry eyes as all recalled warm memories of pets forever in their hearts and took their ornaments home.

Songs sung by Greg Jiede and hot chocolate added to the memorable evening.

If you missed this year’s Rainbow Bridge Memorial, you don’t have to wait until next year. You can make a donation to honor the pets you have loved and lost any time, or the people who were dear to you. Just note on your donation the four- or two-footed honoree.

Verde Valley Humane’s Giving Trees

Here’s our Lobby Giving Tree.

Celebrate with us. Stop at the shelter and pick an ornament or just bring a gift or a donation.

You can help make sure Christmas comes to all the dogs, cats, puppies and kittens at Verde Valley Humane. VVHS Giving Trees will be around the Verde Valley throughout the Season. Each Giving Tree is loaded with tags – each with a gift requests from the pets and people who care for them. Just stop by and grab a tag from one of our Giving Trees, then buy a gift, leave it under the tree, or drop it off at the shelter.

Library Trees

Both the Cottonwood Library on 6th Sreet across from the Rec Center and the Camp Verde Community Library off Montezuma Castle Highway have our Giving Trees!

A thank you letter from an adopter…

One happy adopter wrote to us,

“I came to Verde Valley Humane four years ago to find a dog. I left with Caleverra, a 2-year-old 85-pound Staffy. We had a rough first few months with Caleverra, now Calian. But over time he learned to socialize and now has many dog friends and for over two years goes to the dog park without incident. I wanted to thank you for keeping him in your shelter prior to us meeting and keeping him alive. He has changed my life. I truly can’t imagine where I would be without him.”

Help us make many more matches like Spencer and Calian.
Please donate today.
