A Letter from Alice:

As we come to the end of 2022, a simple Thank You doesn’t seem big enough to tell our supporters how much I appreciate each one of you.

Verde Valley Humane, like most animal shelters, is full. Pets are being dumped. Animal-loving pet owners are surrendering pets due to soaring inflation and housing costs. Hoarding situations come to light and large numbers of dogs come to us with little notice. Along with more mouths to feed, we face higher costs and lower donations. Adoptions lag due to the present economy and we are forced to operate above capacity, stressing both the animals and our staff.

I know these words are hard to hear, but I hope they can help you, our donors, understand how much we rely on your generosity and how grateful we are that you continue to support VVHS.

I’m optimistic about what 2023 will bring: new programs, exciting events, and most certainly many forever homes for our shelter animals.

I humbly thank you and praise the fact we have so many of you who care.

Blessings,
Alice
